Finally Buddy Ollies book "TATTOOING UEBER ALLES" is availible. Sören Sangkuhl and I are participating in it, so it will sound a little selfish to promote it.. but for sure even if I would not be a part of it, I would buy it, because it is a really great publication that shows the world a bit of temporary german tattooing. And as we know, it can just show a little part of all the great tattooing that is going on in germany right now, we will follow up with great attention on what will be the next project from Penpals Publishing... This book is a real big treasure filled with the mind blowing work from tattooers like Chris Dettmer, Jürgen Eckel, Sandor Jordan, Mark Alter,..and many more.
That book really needs to be a must in every good tattoobook collection. Because the publication is limited to only a thousand copies it will also be soon hard to find one to buy. How can you get one? You can order it at Gentlemans-online-bookstore in Europe or gomineko-books in Japan. Milan convention

Milan tattoo convention in 1.2.3 hours. Yesterday Werner and I did the fastest convention trip visit ever. Because Milano is just a 2.5 hours drive from our shop in Luzern, we decided to go to the convention on saturday night after we finished working at the shop. So the math gave us nearly 3 hours time for more than 100 tattoobooths, many friends and tons of book and equipment supplier (also good friends..hahahh)... and everything started like normal !!OUT OF CONTROL!!!, we hit the road to Milan an hour late and the first part was just traffic diversion, but as soon as the road was clear..we found out that none of us has the right adress of the convention hotel.. so we called my wife to get the right dates that guide us straight to the convention.... man what a night .. I packed my camera but I did forget to take any pics to proof that we were there...this was like powershoping against the clock in a tv-game-show! I hope nobody got our -->"Hello -->.."how are you"-->"oh sorry we have to leave..good bye"--> wrong!? we just had a really tight timetable and we just did not want to miss anybody we know. This was a really amazing after work activity. Thanx to Werner for driving us all the way through the night..and thanx to Sandor and Buddy-Ollie for the great Italien Dinner. The next time we will stay over night ..for sure..I promise!!¨

It is for sure the closest and easiest way to see the work of this awsom artist , who is also a amazing Tattoooer.

Like most of you already know, Werner Businger and I went to the Brighton convention this year which took place last weekend at the Brighton race course. I had a fantastic time over there and I was so happy to see all these tattooer friends again.
I know I was not doing conventions for nearly 2 years , but as soon as we went in the booth, it just felt like we did the last one a week befor.
...and like 2 years ago the wether was fantastic ..which is not what we normaly expect from England in January. We had a great time with tons of good vegetarian food..thanx to Wai Kika Moo Kau restaurant in Brighton and Mildrets in London.I hope we can do that again next year ....and big thanx to easy jet who has no weight regulations for hand luggage...25 kg paper??

Thank you Mr. Sören..He took me on a fantastic trip to Filip Leus shop in the french part of Switzerland..around 2 hours from Luzern.We had a sunny ride as soon as we left Luzern behind us..it was such an inspiration to see this true master working in his shop..waohhhhhhso he is so fast in tattooing ..it took him around 1 hour to draw that on and around 45-60 minutes to line it! after that he started to shade right in with a big mag..an other 45 -60 minutes later he filled in a piece as big as 4 hands..and his bodywork compositions are so far beyound anything else...and at the same time he is so open to share his work and to help others to get better wit their work.Sure one of the best days in my tattoolife!
and he loves stickering his place..ahhh

He is a really intressting Tattooer from the older days.. look at the clean designs and there is no doubt, he would still be a top act in the business these days.. ahhh so clean linework and perfect proportions..I can not understand why they hype tattooers like Hoffmann so much and totally forget tattooers like him?
I think thats one of the big secret of our business.

There is an art show at the Metzgerhalle this week right here in Luzern.I just made a short visit there last night, cause my week is so busy. My friend Dani, from crabcycles, invited Piet du Congo from Belgium to come over to Luzern. This multi talented guy ,who shows us a sample of his very unique skills as a tattoo artist painter and musican. The artshow is going on this week but I think most of his stuff is sold. At saturday there will be a party (trash-punk-electro) at the metzgerhalle with piet performing.

The last weeks I was very busy drawing tattoodesigns for clients.It is funny how those periods hit you and than you have to draw day and night and from one day to the other you suddenly have nothing to prepare anymore for weeks.. so for the next year I have to make a new system to spread the starting apppointments for bigger stuff.I need a better system of appointment organisation for next year.

For the last 1,5 years now most of my free time I hide with my friend Daniel in his garage and we "customize" (or destroy) some old motorcycles we bought for a hand full of dollars ..This just startet as a hobby and we are still super enthusiastic about every 2-wheeled vehicle. We met in his fixed gear bikeshop and talked a lot about how much we want a motorcycle till he came to me one day and said I just bought one..with the help of him arguing with my wife he made me buy one a couple of weeks later. And just one year later we were riding through the alps ..13 years after I promissed never to ride a motorcycle again.
For all you out there who do not know, I had a bad snowboard accident 13 years ago..I broke my spine 5 times, lost one backbone and smashed my tailbone to 1000 pieces and since than I live with one paralized leg..I was the luckiest guy on earth that day cause I was not paralized from my chest down!
So this is the story behind that project..we open a motorcycle online store today here in Switzerland and we also have a blog where you can follow us transforming our motorcycles..

The last weekend we spent some time in the garage and made some progress on the bikes.
We finished wiring on both the xs-chopper and the cb-racer and had some lucky moment when we heard the cb starter making his sssssss noise!

Today we went to the hillrace for classic motorcycles in Küssnacht. Oh man what an amazing event.I wish we could ride with pipes like these old racebikes.. even the 200 to 350 ccm bikes sound like a dragster or like a really big rocket launching! I really wish we will return next year with a crabteam-racer !

Like most of the years in the past I spend the summertime with my friends in Victoria BC..
This year we made a motorcycle-trip all the way up to Tofino on Vancouver island. Like every year it is the sadest thing to do, leaving this beautyfull place and all these friends I made over the last 8 years that I came here. But I will be back next year for sure!!
